Gryffin Aims to Connect the World with Debut Concert Film "Gravity Live from the Shrine"

Take a trip across the universe from the comfort of your couch with Gryffin: Gravity Live from The Shrine on May 9th, 2020.

If you weren't in attendance at Gryffin's awe-inspiring performance at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium last October, fear not, you still have the chance to experience every moment. When the electronic artist brought his revolutionary new show, dubbed Gravity II Live, to the iconic venue, the reviews were out of this world. Fans got the chance to witness hits like "All You Need to Know," "Desire," "Heading Home," and "Hurt People," all while traversing the origins of the universe. 

Gryffin and his team are now using footage from that evening to bring the experience to your home screen, with the forthcoming concert film Gryffin: Gravity Live from The Shrine. While touring has been put on hold due to the stay-at-home ordinances, the need to connect with one another more paramount now more than ever. 

"The idea of taking people on a journey from the beginning of the universe and showing how long it took, and how many things happened in between the Big Bang and present-day Earth, will hopefully leave people feeling more connected to each other and the universe at the end of the show," the tour's Creative Director Jordan Rosenheck told Billboard Dance last December.

The full-length film will premiere via YouTube on Saturday, May 9th at 6PM PST (9PM EST), bringing the wonders of the universe straight to your doorstep. Throughout the film, fans will experience all the glory of Gryffin, his live band, special guests Jonas Blue and Fairlane, and of course jaw-dropping pyrotechnics, lasers, and LEDs. Although Nectar fans were recently hit with the heartbreaking news about the cancellation of his remaining 2020 special events, they can find solace in the THE LOCKDOWN MIXTAPES. The first iteration features a myriad of exclusive edits, never-before-heard flips, and "mashed-up bootleg versions" of some of his favorite tracks. Malaa Drops a Funky Homage to Stoners with "Four Twenty"

Malaa is here to represent for all the stoners out there who feel like every day is 4/20 with his brand new single. The French ski-masked artist shared that "Four Twenty" was originally supposed to come out on April 20th, but in true stoner fashion, the producer got a little too high. The intoxicating, aptly-titled single is the perfect soundtrack to blast as we enter into yet another weekend of self-isolation.

The single samples Dr. Dre's iconic track "Let's Get High," transforming it with a funky G-House production, ambient chatter that is great for imagining you're surrounded by all your friends, and Malaa's signature use of sirens. Bass Prodigy A Hundred Drums Delivers Dynamic New Single “19”

A Hundred Drums is using her time in quarantine to cultivate tantalizing, genre-defiant soundscapes.

California-grown, Denver-based recording artist A Hundred Drums was supposed to be playing Bassnectar’s Deja Voom and Freestyle Sessions events in the first half of 2020, but like the rest of us, her live music plans have been sidelined for the foreseeable future by the impact of COVID-19.

Today, however, she’s plugging back into the bass community and culture by delivering an electrifying new single, “19," which displays how she's using quarantine to cultivate an even more palatable sonic storyline.

A Hundred Drums has honed in on creating her multi-instrumental bass music project since starting out in 2006. Fusing elements of modern electronic music with tantalizing, genre-defiant soundscapes, the Redondo Beach native earned co-signs and bookings from various artists, like Bassnectar, for her display of prodigal talents in sound design. Having performed around the world, A Hundred Drums takes pride in combining the sonics of nature with deep bass music to provide a unifying, grounding feeling for listeners.

"19" opens with a hollow, reverberating drum pattern containing percussive elements, which sound as if they were submerged, before a sobering kick-drum grabs the listener's attention 30 seconds in. These more tangible instrumentals become more and more focal, eventually culminating with A Hundred Drums dunking a trembling bassline in just before the minute mark.

This slow-burning track is less so "banger" material and more so a spicy showcasing of this rising producer's talent. As one of the members of the global women's music group Shakti Sound, A Hundred Drums has long maintained her status as a leader and innovator, but with each new music offering we begin to understand a little more of how unique she really is as an artist.

SLANDER and SVDDEN DEATH Announce Epic B2B and New Collaboration

The two acts go live Saturday on the Bassrush live stream alongside Habstrakt, Kompany, and Effin.

Fans of SLANDER and SVDDEN DEATH have a lot to look forward to this Saturday, May 2nd. The duo just announced they will be kicking off the Bassrush live stream with a special B2B performance at 8PM PST (11PM EST). If that wasn't enough, during the stream they will be premiering their new collaboration for the first time ever live on SLANDER's Twitch channel.  

The tandem first raised eyebrows when they shared a call to action for fans to retweet if they wanted a collab between the two revered bass music acts. After receiving 4.7K retweets, the result was an unequivocal "yes." Based on the snippet shared on Twitter, fans should plan to stretch in preparation for the stream as necks and backs will be pushed to the extreme with this heavy-hitter. 

Following the B2B will be performances by Habstrakt, Kompany, and Effin. While livestreams never seem to hit like the real thing, they're the best we can get right now. Clear your living room, put your bandana on, and let the music transport you to a speedway somewhere.

Illenium and X Ambassadors Unveil Scintillating Stripped Version of "In Your Arms"

Break out the tissues.

Illenium and X Ambassadors today shared the "Stripped" version of their collaborative single "In Your Arms," which appeared on the former's Ascend LP back in August 2019.

Peeling the original down to its barebones, Illenium and X Ambassadors have delivered a poignant rework of the original track that displays the classically-trained side of both artists.

Illenium's most recent release came earlier in the month of April, when he uncorked a monster collaboration with dubstep don Excision called "Feel Something" featuring I Prevail. Additionally, their fan favorite debut B2B set from Lost Lands 2019 was uploaded in full by the festival's organizers. Illenium and Sam Harris of X Ambassadors also performed the original "In Your Arms" live during a landmark Ascend Tour stop at famed LA arena Staples Center back in December 2019.
