Martin Garrix Featured In PSA for War Child's COVID-19 Initiative

Martin Garrix is supporting War Child's efforts to assist struggling children in war-torn areas, who now face the added threat COVID-19.

International nonprofit War Child is featuring a number of celebrity ambassadors in their latest PSA, including one of dance music's most recognizable names, Martin Garrix.

The organization's new video aims to raise awareness of the plight children in war-torn areas continue to face, especially today considering the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The added pressures of COVID-19 have exacerbated shortages in food supplies, and basic healthcare essentials in a number of conflict zones. "Children in war zones are often displaced from home, separated from their families, struggling to overcome their experiences," said Garrix in the video.

The pandemic has posed a new set of challenges for the War Child organization itself, whose members have been unable to travel and mobilize on the ground to the extent they would like. The organization has been heavily focused on offering remote support in the interim in the form of enabling access to remote education and offering mental health support by phone.

War Child is seeking additional funding in order to focus on expanding operations to communities where they currently have low visibility, such as Yemen. Today, War Child's efforts support the people of Uganda, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

DEMUR Makes Triumphant Return with New Single "Fight No Longer"

DEMUR broke his promise.

Two and a half years ago, DEMUR effectively tabled his music career, promising himself he was done releasing music for good.

This week DEMUR broke that promise, and he's back with a vengeance, releasing a new single "Fight No Longer" as if he sought to channel years of pent-up energy into one explosive offering.

The passage of time hasn't shaken DEMUR's stylistic affinity for grungy distortion, and perhaps it's even enhanced it. The genre-bending "Declaration" producer has effortlessly regained his stride and is up for new risk-taking, leaning into anthemic rock flavors more than ever as frenetic guitar riffs and persevering vocals fight to take center stage.

DEMUR's comeback single has reignited fans, building anticipation for what will be his boldest release yet, a forthcoming full EP. The producer has made his name on an unfiltered, no-holds-barred style approach, further intriguing fans as to how he'll approach his next move. Though not much is yet known regarding the upcoming project, one thing's for sure—DEMUR's vision will not be carried out quietly.

Gesaffelstein Releases Epic Live Recording from 2019 Requiem Tour Stop in Los Angeles

Now you can relive the madness of Gesaffelstein's comeback tour.

Gesaffelstein's Requiem Tour quickly became one of the hottest tickets in dance music last year after The Dark Prince of Techno lived up to his name by assembling the darkest stage setup ever seen on stage at Coachella.

Now the techno heavyweight producer has dropped a full recording of his sold out Los Angeles live set, which took hold of the Shrine Expo Hall late last year. Though the original set took place over six months ago, fans were immediately gripped by Gesaffelstein's announcement at the beginning of this month teasing the release of the live recording.

While you may not have the visual of the stunning Vantablack stage front and center as you listen, Gesaffelstein's set paints an image in its own right. Gesaffelstein leads listeners into the void as the producer's primal techno instincts take the driver's seat. While The Weeknd provides a brief break in the action as "Lost In the Fire" drops just ahead of the closing act, Gesaffelstein's set is an unrelenting ride from start to finish. In addition to his classics, the set tested the water with fresh cuts from his most recent EP, Novo Sonic System.

Gesaffelstein's Requiem Tour launched following the release of his 2019 comeback album, Hyperion.

Inspired by Japanese Culture, 9ToEarth Channel Haunting, Industrial Sound on "Kogarashi Tales"

"Kogarashi Tales" is a haunting piece that showcases the duo's undeniable talent.

Chilean artist Visonia and singer/songwriter Kika Stepa have been steadily releasing music under their 9ToEarth alias since early April this year. Just a few months later, the pair have unveiled their debut project Kogarashi Tales.

After a stint in Japan, Stepa found herself inspired by both the chaotic city life of Tokyo and the peaceful atmosphere of the shrines and monuments scattered throughout the country. This served as the catalyst for Kogarashi Tales. Kika details that they are "very inspired by Asian culture" and that she based many ideas for the lyrics "on the idea of contrast that [she] believe[s] is a strong part of the Japanese culture.”

"Kogarashi" is a Japanese word that means "winds that come before winter." The pair have masterfully captured that essence within their beautifully crafted 7-track project, as their industrial feel conjures a chilling soundscape from start to finish. The eerie, raw melodies compliment Kika's airy vocals, further highlighting their artistry.

Kika and Visonia further elaborate by stating, “We wanted to reflect some of our struggles in life but also delve into the human psyche and illustrate it in our own words.” Kogarashi Tales does just that, as it is a phenomenal first showing all around. The project includes their previously released singles "Petal of Ice," "Kintsugi," and "Nobody Around Us" as well as a handful of new tunes, including a shining moment in their song "Parasite." Combining ethereal techno elements with a darker twist on Kika's vocals, "Parasite" is without a doubt one of the most unique tracks featured.

With their debut project, 9ToEarth has given critics a reason to keep them in their sights. Stream Kogarashi Tales below.

Cristina Soto Delivers Acoustic Version of Seven Lions Remix of Tritonal's "Still With Me"

The vocalist revisits her breakout hit in a fresh new way.

In 2012, when Seven Lions remixed Tritonal and Cristina Soto's breakout track "Still With Me," it catapulted the single to what Spotify considers part of the Best Dance of the 2010s. Both the original and remix combined have raked in over 30 million plays. Soto's angelic vocals were the driving force of the track, creating an ethereal veil that allowed the production to shine through. She's now back to revisit the remix, delivering an acoustic mix of the global hit.

Soto channels the structure laid out by Seven Lions while still making it her own through wide-open soundscapes brought on by the lush guitar work of her brother, Rob Soto. They add even more emotion to the track by adding in strings by Haydn Vitera and bass from Omar Vallejo, two well-known Austin-based musicians. Her slow-burning acoustic performance truly captures the theme of the track, noting to pause and be present with the ones you love.

Tritonal and Cristina Soto are quickly approaching the 10-year anniversary of "Still With Me." Ahead of the monumental milestone, check out Soto's acoustic rendition below.

Louis The Child Channel Happiness In Being "Here For Now" with Debut Album

Sometimes you have to live like you are just "Here For Now."

While it feels like Louis The Child have been here for some time now, they are finally debuting their first studio album, Here For Now. The Chicago-bred future-pop duo proves that perfecting your craft is worth the wait, delivering an impressive 14-track collection that exemplifies why they've developed such a devoted following. The album is chock full of uplifting, feel-good songs, which arrive during a time when we need positivity the most.

Here For Now features the previously released singles “Little Things” with Quinn XCII and Chelsea Cutler, “Free” with Drew Love, “Every Color” with Foster The People, “Don’t Mind,” and "Nobody Like You" with Vera Blue. The album opens with a radio sound-off titled "Scooter's Debut (Intro)," preparing the listener to enter a land where "the birds are chirping, [and] the kids are smiling." The intro seamlessly dissolves into "Big Love" with EARTHGANG, the perfect happy starting point to set the tone for the rest of the album.

Both "Bittersweet" and "We Are Here For Now" channel the similar message of "Big Love,"—that it's important to live in the present and be grateful for simply being alive. They feature playful productions of electric guitar chords and vocoders, with unique sound design. "What A World" with Bob Moses, and "La La La (Everything's Okay)" lyrically work beautifully together, presenting the theme that though we exist in a world with problems we didn't create, we have the power to change it and, in the end, everything will be okay.

The two tracks that channel a tinge of sadness, in both the production and the lyrics, are "Get Together" with Duckwrth, and "Free" with Drew Love. While the former speaks on self-sabotage in relationships and trying the mend the issues, the latter channels the feelings that arise post-breakup. Finally, Louis The Child "Fade Away" with the last track of the album, featuring a more experimental beat structure that showcases why they are going to be around much longer than just "now."
