Voice Effect Extra Singer in GarageBand In this video I use Pete Johns from StudioLive’s idea of using the extra singer option in GarageBand and with it I do two voices one hi one low then I duplicate the track and make another high pitch voice and it actually worked I separated the tracks a bit in the mix to make it sound as though there’s three people the crunching you hear in the background is the family dog chewing on a bone right next to me

My thoughts on SoundCloud monetization sorry if I sound odd, got a bad cold possibly mild flu. Somehow I’m not optimistic it will be a good place to monetize but perhaps I’ll be wrong. Well as of a few minutes ago we went LIVE on Spotify. iTunes, Google Play Music, Youtube Red, Amazon Music, Shazam and more to follow over the next few hours. I have to say getting distribution was easier than I expected which was GREAT! This 11 track album plus 2 singles were created mainly mobile on an Apple iPadPro tho we took a few bried forays into Ableton Live as well. Launchpads from Novation, Akai MPD218 and an MPD226 utilied here n there as well as an old APC40 and more. What a trip man!

AudioKit Synth One And an Akai APC40 after using both the APC40 and the Novation Launch Control XL I think the Launch Control wins for working with Synth One since it can be Bus Powered. The pads on both alas aren’t optimal so a keyboard of some type would be better for playing the notes. The encoders on both work fantastic tho.

I even tried it on a old iMac from 2006 that I’m running Windows 7 on and it works even on that tho Ableton plus the Splashtop Streamer coupled with its 2 Gig RAM is not a happy combo. The Mac has 16 gigs in it that I did this on. I totally forgot to try running the Mac with the Monitor off to see if I could run as a Headless server. This system is essentially your own Cloud computing system. Access your Mac and Windows PC from practically any mobile device or computer.

Using the iOS GridInstrument app with External MIDI Synths

Have any of you fine folks tried the #GridInstrument app in IOS with your #Launchpad?


This is a tutorial that shows you how to use the iOS GridInstrument app with external MIDI synthesizers.

GridInstrument is an app that turns your iPhone or iPad into a playable grid (much like the Ableton Push or scale-mode on a Launchpad Pro).

It has a simple sound generator built in, but where it really shines is in its ability to output MIDI data. It has Audiobus 3 support so that you can send MIDI to other apps. It also has MIDI out support so that you can send button presses to outboard hardware or even to a Network MIDI connection.

But the coolest feature of the app by far is that you can hook up your Ableton Launchpad controller directly to it (using the Apple Camera Connection Kit) and it will let you play your Launchpad like a musical instrument.

4 USB Music Devices connected to an iPadPro

4 USB Music Devices connected to an iPadPro and the test was actually successful all four devices were powered up via the USB powered hub connected to the iPad Pro they all worked I’m quite shocked by that I expected having all four collected it once to draw too much power this is why I do these crazy experiments just because I think it won’t work I want to make sure that I’m not wrong obviously in this case I’m wrong. Apologies for shooting this handheld and without a mic. I shot it with a FiLMiC Pro on my iPhone.

Getting the lens just right on the phones lens is quite an experience, this footage was indeed shot with it on my iPhone in 4K BUT to avoid seeing parts of the frame of the device I zoomed in to 125% and added sharpening to it. I’d suggest saving your money for something better like the Fengyun Jedeye Camera for example.

Xiaomi Mi Sphere 360 Stabilizer torture test we start off walking fairly sedately showing off the built in electronic image stabilization and then we ramp it up and walk quite quickly and show that EIS really cannot keep up with all the shaking shuttering wobbles. So if you were going to walk and talk with this camera I snuggets you walk slowly and with bent knees which will help it do it’s job.
