Kaleidoscope Orchestra keep their streak after successfully transforming yet another dance music track.
One of 2020's most danceable tracks has received a transformative rendition by the graceful Kaleidoscope Orchestra. CamelPhat and ARTBAT's latest offering, "For a Feeling," has received a symphonic makeover that completely reshapes the character and tone of the source material.
Putting a new spin on a CamelPhat track is no small feat, especially when working around the duo's iconic basslines. However, in this orchestral re-imagination, the symphonic arrangement does away with most of the low-end entirely, instead opting for a stripped down approach.
The primarily string-driven arrangement creates an intimate setting that puts the focus back on RHODES' vocal performance. Aside from the cadence of pointed string stabs keeping the song's pace, the orchestra's prolonged deliverance of lush, languid chords often gives the illusion of time standing still. RHODES perfectly meets the moment, shining with a performance that holds nothing back.
The Kaleidoscope Orchestra has thrived at the intersection of dance and orchestral music. The group has previously crafted arrangements around the songs of several dance music heavyweights, including Avicii and Skrillex. While the group usually performs live together, the current lockdown environment has forced members of the orchestra to record themselves performing individually. Each members' individual video has been stitched together in the group's newly released music video performance.
