The iconic Dutch producer continues to change up his style.
Tiësto (real name Tijs Michiel Verwest) is back with a new single to cry dance your heart out to. "BLUE," which features the soulful vocals of British singer/songwriter Stevie Appleton, is out now via Republic/Casablanca Records. It's a new sound for the esteemed producer, who takes a step back from his throne on top of the big room house game and re-enters melodic territory.
The guitar work in "BLUE" is the standout in the production, alongside Appleton's dreamy vocals. The single evokes Avicii-esque elements, incorporating a slight country beat alongside the melancholic lyrics. It's a refreshing drop from the legendary artist.
On the topic of creating "BLUE", Verwest said:
“I wanted to end the year with a track that is a different vibe for me – the exploration of different sounds and styles is what keeps things fresh and energizing for me as an artist. 2019 has been a year of experimentation with different artists and across various sounds, styles, and genres, which I plan to continue into 2020. ‘BLUE’ is the perfect way to cap off an incredible decade, and I’m really excited to share a new song that I really love, ahead of the holidays”
This looks to be the last time we will be hearing from the Grammy Award-winning, platinum-certified artist this year. "BLUE" comes right on the heels of his last release "Bomb Bae," his first-ever Indian-language remix for Jaz Dhami. The Dutch icon has been hard at work in 2019 continuously evolving, staying at the forefront of trends. To catch his last set of the year, head over to Decadence NYE 2019 where you can see him alongside Bassnectar, FISHER, Zeds Dead, and more.
