Opening in early 2020, the club's first set of shows includes Dillon Francis, Tchami and Carl Cox.
Move over TAO, there's a new club in town.
Radius, located just south of The Loop in Chicago, is set to open in early 2020. With its first set of shows including Dillon Francis, Tchami and Carl Cox, just to name a few, it's clear that the club will be a fixture of the city's EDM scene.
The event space will hold between 2,500 and 3,800 people at full capacity, making it one of the larger venues in the city. Located in a converted steel factory in East Pilsen at 640 West Cermak Road, Radius promises modern, artistic vibes for concert and club goers alike. The 55,000-square-foot, multipurpose space will include an outdoor smoking section, nine full bars, and a VIP mezzanine level.
Owner and operator Nick Karounos played the same role at iconic concert halls across Chicago, including Concord Music Hall, The MID and PRYSM Nightclub. He hopes Radius will fill the city's need for a large event space closer to downtown, he said in a press release. Currently, popular music venues all fall on the north side of The Loop.
EDM can be hard to find in Chicago, outside of a few select venues, and finding a venue set up to work well with the genre's ideal lighting and sound specs is even harder. Radius stands to fill that gap, with a state-of-the-art sound system and a focus on creating cool, elevated experiences for music lovers.
