The Best Winter EDM Festivals

We've gathered some of the best winter EDM festivals to keep you partying all season long.

When you think of music festivals, sunshine rather than snow usually comes to mind. However, as many seasoned festival attendees know, some of the finest festivals in the world go down in the winter. While some are in climates where snow is not an issue and others are in heated venues, some festivals decide to embrace the cold temperatures and make the snow part of the fun.

We've compiled a list of some of the best winter festivals out there to give fans a way to keep the festival season going all year round.

Tomorrowland Winter

Building upon the legendary Tomorrowland brand, the winter edition of the festival has fans travel to the French Alps for the frigid dance music event. The youngest festival on this list, Tomorrowland Winter made its debut in March of 2019. Held at one of the best locations in the world to ski and snowboard, there's plenty for fans to do when they're not catching sets from some of EDM's biggest names.

Lights All Night

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019, Lights All Night is Texas' longest-running EDM festival. Although the gathering probably won't feature snow like the other entries, the southern festival has curated some of the finest lineups on the circuit, including artists from all over the EDM spectrum. Interestingly enough, the 2018 edition featured an eSports tie-in with an onsite gaming lounge built upon gaming and EDM's fabled relationship.

Contact Winter Music Festival

Since its inception in 2012, Vancouver's Contact Winter Music Festival holds the title of Canada's biggest winter music festival. The venue, the BC Place Stadium is transformed into an alien mothership for the duration of the party as Contact's production puts heavy emphasis on its extraterrestrial theme.

World Club Dome Winter Edition

Like other major festival brands, World Club Dome takes on many different forms throughout the year. The winter edition of the festival is held at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany. Featuring a lineup of mostly artists geared towards the European end of the dance music spectrum, fans can see some of the genre's most notable names take the stage in the winter domed event.

A State Of Trance Festival

Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance brand has become the premier radio show dedicated to trance music. With well over 900 episodes to date, he's garnered a massive following and has hosted stages at some of the biggest festivals in the world. With all that being said, it makes total sense for him to host his own festival. Taking place over two days in February, each day of the festival is held in a different city in the Netherlands, Amsterdam and Utrecht. The man himself headlines the event and picks trance all-stars to join him on the stage for one of the genre's most prominent gatherings.
