This comes shortly after the release of their album World War Joy.
The Chainsmokers (real names Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall) and Kygo (real name Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll) have released a music video for their collaboration "Family."
The music video for "Family" is an homage to their close friend and videographer, Rory Kramer, as it details the beginning of his career up until it's take off. The second half of the video includes Kramer's struggles with mental health after a nearly fatal car crash last year. Undoubtedly, this beautiful tribute to Kramer shows how powerful friendships can be and how important it is to check on your friends.
Taggart and Pall released a heartfelt statement via their Instagram:
"One of our closest friends who you all know @rorykramer was brave enough to make this video telling the story of what he went through for our new song ‘Family’ with @kygomusic. Anxiety and depression is an on going battle that we will have to deal with for the rest of our lives, but we’re thankful to have a platform to tell our stories in hopes that they may help other people. You’ve probably heard it many times but don’t forget to check in with your friends."
Taggart and Pall recently released their third album, World War Joy, which features collaborations with blink-182, Bebe Rexha, Illenium, and more. They just wrapped up their U.S. album tour with 5 Seconds of Summer.
