For those who prefer pumpkin decor and slasher flicks to elf on the shelf and Santa, Canadian-EDM star Rezz returns to send chills down your spine with a spooky, maniacal new Yultron collaboration, “Hell On Earth.”
The single follows her collaboration with Malaa from last month titled “Criminals." “Hell On Earth” has been heavily hyped by Rezz’ Cult following due to teases of it heard throughout the fall festival season. Rezz (real name Isabelle Rezazadeh) emerged in 2015 behind EPs that fleshed out near-satanic aesthetics (such as Insurrection), but over the last year has evolved by exploring a more rock-influenced approach, even featuring Tampa metal group Underoath on “Falling."
"Hell On Earth" finds Rezazadeh exploring influences both new and old, and amounts to one of her more electric tracks. The introduction immediately introduces the listener to a buoyant, snappy beat paired with an alluring siren spiraling in the background. Its rings to a peak before the listener is slapped with a dubstep-infused, wonky drop, one that definitely points to Yultron’s production style as well.
Throughout the three-minute track, the producers are able to maintain a seductively addictive sound by maintaining Rezazadeh's penchant for hypnotic, choppy production. For naysayers of her catalogue’s diversity, “Hell On Earth” arouses a renewed sense of excitement for her potential and evolution as a producer. For diehard fans, it's a fine present for the holidays.
