Ikan's CV600 Spectrometer Will Tell You Almost Everything About Your Light Source

Ikan shows off a new spectrometer for the discerning gaffer or cinematographer.

The CV600 is a step beyond a light meter because it can check color wavelengths along with exposure. Using this tool, a gaffer can determine the exact color temperature, as well as visualize the light spectrum being received. The CV600 can detect poor CRI lighting sources, flicker, and even calculate which filter to use based on the current source and how you want it to be. While the more experienced gaffer may be able to eyeball a light and know that it needs 1/4" CTO, this tool offers a scientifically calibrated solution for a wider audience.
